Posey originally came to us as a baby for some socialization work. She was the shyest of a large litter of very confident puppies! She spent several months with us and made great progress. She went back to her breeder/owner for a few months, then came back again to get some more exposure in the show ring and at trials. We started her in some all-breed lure coursing as well which she loves. Eventually it was decided she would stay with us permanently, which was never in the plan! but we were happy for her to stay, as she got along great with all the other dogs and she bonded very strongly to my husband. (It is really adorable how much she loves him :))

Posey still has some mild worries about strangers and strange dogs (she is my only Siberian to alarm bark !), but in general she is very stable and highly functional. She travels with us all the time in hotels, campgrounds, adjusts to new boarding dogs within a couple days, and is all-in-all a lovely dog. She is extremely loving with people, the easiest dog ever at the vet (truly the BEST patient!!), is easy to groom, and is very playful with other dogs once she is comfortable with them. But even though she has matured into a much more confident dog, and is extremely athletic and healthy, she does still have enough temperament quirks that I have decided not to breed her. She is a pretty intense resource guarder toward other dogs, and she has the highest prey drive of all my dogs as well (which is saying something!). All of this together means she is not an easy pet for most people, and I do not feel these traits should be bred. She is also very small, which again is nice as a pet dog, but not what I want to have in my program.
